After completing her undergraduate studies in Biology at UCLA, Dr. Sona moved to San Francisco to pursue her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree at UCSF. She worked as a general dentist in San Francisco for two years, then returned to UCSF for Orthodontic residency.
She concurrently earned an Orthodontic certificate and a Master’s in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences. Her research focused on how to protect teeth from the cavities that occur around braces during orthodontic treatment. Dr. Sona has presented her clinical cases and achieved Board Certification in Orthodontics. She established an orthodontic clinic for children with craniofacial anomalies at Children’s Hospital Oakland and is committed to providing care to those patients on a regular basis.
Dr. Sona grew up in California’s sunny San Fernando Valley. She loves singing along to all kinds of music, exploring the natural beauty of the Bay Area, experimenting with ingredients in the kitchen and teaching Sunday school for children. We are sure that you will be pleased with the thoughtful care and attention to detail that Dr. Sona will provide to our patients.
