Taking Invisalign to the Highest Level: Gorton & Schmohl Orthodontics Leads Marin County in achieving Diamond Provider designation for Invisalign Clear Aligner Treatment
Larkspur, CA – A beautiful smile not only accentuates the beauty of an individual but also represents the oral health consciousness of that individual. At Gorton & Schmohl Orthodontics, the doctors are board-certified in the orthodontic specialty of moving teeth and they apply this knowledge to careful treatment planning of both their braces and clear aligner patients. While all treatment modalities are based on the biology of tooth movement, each orthodontic “tool” available to the doctor has its own unique functionality which must be learned in order to achieve an optimal result.
Gorton & Schmohl Orthodontics (MarinOrtho.com) has been conferred “Diamond” Level status by Invisalign, a designation shared by only a handful of orthodontists in the San Francisco Bay Area. Drs. Jasmine Gorton and Bill Schmohl were first recognized as “Top 100” Invisalign providers worldwide in 2006 and continue to lead Marin County orthodontists in their experience with clear aligner therapy.
Levels of bronze, silver, gold, platinum and diamond are based on how many cases are treated in the office(s) assigned to that doctor as well as the complexity of the cases (limited vs full treatment) To give an idea of the broadness of the range bronze level offices are seeing less than a dozen new full Invisalign cases a year whereas at the highest level of Diamond/Diamond Plus the doctors are treating hundreds of cases per year with clear aligner therapy. Anyone interested in improving their smile and/or how their teeth fit together can now go online to the company website (Invisalign.com) and enter their zip code to see nearby offices and their corresponding experience level. Even within the same experience level there can be different approaches to treatment and different outcomes. Therefore it is recommended that prospective patients review doctor websites reviews, state their goals clearly in the consultation appointment and ask to see comparable cases treated in that office.
Describing the orthodontists at Gorton & Schmohl Orthodontics, the spokesperson for the office said, “Their focus is on comfortable, patient-centered treatment plans that work with the body’s natural potential. Our doctors are committed to helping our patients achieve an optimally esthetic ‘Wow Smile‘ in addition to good function. They have a strong commitment to continuing education and this provides them with the training to offer their patients the most modern treatment options in the area.”
When asked to what they owed this ongoing success with Invisalign, Dr. Gorton replied, “Our doctors are extremely hands-on with the manipulation of the patient’s teeth within the software in order to create the best treatment plan for each individual. Even with significant advances in computer artificial intelligence, the patients’ experience and final results are correlated to the treating doctor(s), such that the same product can yield differing outcomes. “
Earlier this year, Dr. Gorton was invited to Invisalign Headquarters to share with other progressive orthodontists before and after records for the youngest of the practice’s Invisalign patients. These “Phase 1” patients, including her son, were between the ages of 7 and 10 years old at the time of their Invisalign treatment. In a significant departure from traditional orthodontic approaches, these children used removable clear aligners for expansion and straightening of the teeth instead of the conventional glued-in metal expanders or bulky acrylic expanders. Since there is no hardware treatment is more comfortable there are no dietary restrictions and nothing to work around for brushing and flossing. This pre-teen group has been surprisingly successful with their aligner wear for early expansion, with most of them finishing in 6 months or less.
The team of professionals at Gorton & Schmohl Orthodontics offer a wide range of orthodontic treatments such as Invisalign, braces with colors, Damon System clear braces, self-ligating metal braces, various expanders as well as star and heart shaped braces for our younger patients. The patient’s experience is made as pleasant as possible through the use of the latest technology, a calm setting and a highly trained team.
Gorton & Schmohl Orthodontics is located at 900 Larkspur Landing Circle, Suite 200 Larkspur, CA 94939.
The doctors are available Monday through Friday 8 am -5 pm with extended times for consultations. The office can be reached by phone at 415-459-8006, via email at FrontDesk@MarinOrtho.com. For additional information or to use our online system for new patient consultations, click here.
